Commonwealth Games 2030: Complete List of Sports (Confirmed & Proposed)

With Ahmedabad confirmed as the host, the biggest question on every fan's mind is: Which sports will we see in 2030?

As the host nation, India has the privilege of proposing specific sports to the CGF. Here is the breakdown of what is locked in and what is being negotiated.

The Core Sports (Compulsory)

These sports are mandatory for every Commonwealth Games:

• Athletics (Track & Field)
• Swimming
• Road Cycling
• Boxing
• Gymnastics (Artistic)

The "India Advantage": Sports Likely to Return

India is pushing hard to reinstate sports that were dropped in previous editions to maximize our medal tally.

1. Shooting & Wrestling (High Probability)

• Status: Likely to Return.
• Why: These are India's biggest medal engines. Their exclusion in Birmingham 2022 caused a massive dip in our gold tally. With the games on home soil, their inclusion is almost non-negotiable for the LOC.

2. Cricket (T20 Format)

• Status: Confirmed.
• Update: After the massive success of Women's Cricket in 2022, Ahmedabad (the cricket capital of the world) will host both Men's and Women's T20 Cricket. Matches will likely be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

3. Kabaddi (The Wildcard)

• Status: Proposed.
• Why: As an indigenous sport, India has the right to propose Kabaddi. If approved, it would mark the sport's CWG debut and a guaranteed Gold for India.

Sports at Risk

• 3x3 Basketball: May be replaced to make room for Kabaddi or Kho-Kho.
• Netball: Traditional in CWG, but less popular in India.
