Vision 2030 Ahmedabad-On the Road to Centenary Games

The countdown has begun. As Ahmedabad prepares to host the centenary Commonwealth Games in 2030, the city is embarking on its most ambitious transformation yet.

🏟️ The Venue Masterplan: Sardar Patel Enclave

At the center of Vision 2030 is the Sardar Patel Sports Enclave in Motera. This will be one of the largest sports complexes in India.

• Narendra Modi Stadium: Already the world's largest cricket stadium, it will serve as the spectacular centerpiece for the Opening and Closing ceremonies.

• New Indoor Arenas: A cluster of multi-purpose indoor halls is rising in Naranpura to host high-intensity sports like Badminton, Table Tennis, and Gymnastics.

• Aquatics Complex: A world-class swimming and diving facility is being developed to meet international Olympic standards.

🚇 Connected City: Metro & Mobility

A major games requires major mobility. Ahmedabad's infrastructure is getting a massive upgrade to ensure fans can move seamlessly between venues.

• Metro Phase 2: The new line connecting Motera directly to Gandhinagar and GIFT City is crucial. It will link the main stadium with accommodation hubs and satellite venues.

• Riverfront Phase 2: The Sabarmati Riverfront is being extended, creating a vibrant cultural corridor for the "Games Village" feel, complete with fan parks and entertainment zones.

• Airport T2 Expansion: SVPI Airport is ramping up capacity to welcome thousands of international athletes and visitors.

🏆 The Sports: Cricket Comes Home?

For Indian fans, the 2030 Games represent a homecoming for our favorite sport.

• T20 Cricket: With the games in India, the inclusion of Men's and Women's T20 Cricket is almost a certainty. Imagine an India vs. Australia final at a packed Motera stadium!

• New Sports: We are also keeping an eye on the potential inclusion of Kabaddi and Shooting, sports where India traditionally dominates.
