How can I buy tickets?

Tickets can be purchased exclusively through our official website. Please visit the Tickets page to view available sessions and prices.

Do I need a visa to visit India?

Most international visitors will require a visa. India offers an e-Visa facility for citizens of many countries. Please check the Visa & Travel page for more details.

Are the venues wheelchair accessible?

Yes, all competition venues are fully accessible with dedicated seating areas and facilities for persons with disabilities.

How much will tickets cost?

Sports tickets start from approx ₹100-500. Opening Ceremony tickets range from ₹2,000 to ₹50,000+ depending on seat category.

Do children need tickets?

Usually, children under 2 are free (no seat). Children 2-16 typically get discounted tickets (e.g., 50% off).

Can I buy tickets at the gate?

Only if not sold out. It is highly recommended to buy online in advance. High-demand events (ceremonies, cricket) will sell out.

Is there a student discount?

Yes, verified students often get concession rates (30-50% off) for morning sessions and non-premium events.

Where is the main stadium?

The Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera (SVP Enclave) with 132,000 capacity - world's largest cricket stadium.

How do I get from the Airport to the Stadium?

The Metro Phase 2 connects SVPI Airport (via a short shuttle) to Motera Stadium station. Journey time: ~40 minutes.

Is there a Bullet Train?

Yes. The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (Bullet Train) will be operational by 2028, stopping at Sabarmati, just 2km from the main venue.

Are the venues air-conditioned?

A: All indoor venues (Naranpura Aquatics, Mahatma Mandir, EKA Arena, Multi-Purpose Halls) are fully air-conditioned. Outdoor stadiums (Narendra Modi Stadium, Athletics Stadium) use shading fabrics to cool spectator stands.

How many venues will be used?

20-22 venues across Gujarat, with 15-18 in the Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar metro region.

Can I visit venues before 2030?

Yes. Narendra Modi Stadium offers stadium tours. EKA Arena and Mahatma Mandir are active year-round. Naranpura Aquatics Centre will open to the public by 2026.

Are there sensory-friendly facilities?

Yes, select venues will have sensory rooms for neurodivergent guests, a first for a major multi-sport event in India.

Is there audio description for visually impaired guests?

Yes, live audio description commentary will be available via a dedicated app for all major events.

Can I bring a service animal?

Yes, certified service animals are welcome at all venues.

When will the 2030 CWG be held?

Likely October-November 2030 to align with post-monsoon weather, similar to Delhi 2010. Exact dates will be announced by CGF in 2027-2028.

Is Ahmedabad the only host city?

Technically yes, but Gandhinagar (25km away) acts as a twin host. Cycling events may occur at the Statue of Unity (Kevadia, 200km away).

Will Cricket be played?

Yes, T20 Cricket (Men & Women) is a core sport. Women's finals will be at Narendra Modi Stadium.

Is this related to the Olympics?

Yes. The infrastructure built for CWG 2030 is the direct foundation for India's bid for the 2036 Olympics. All venues are being built to Olympic-grade standards.

How many sports will be included?

Expected 20-22 sports including Athletics, Swimming, Cricket, Badminton, Hockey, Wrestling, Shooting (likely to return), Boxing, and more.

What is the expected budget?

Estimated investment of ₹15,000-20,000 crore covering infrastructure, operations, security, and legacy projects.

Will there be a mascot?

Yes, likely the Asiatic Lion (Gir National Park pride). Official mascot announcement expected in 2027-2028.

Is Ahmedabad safe for tourists?

Yes, Ahmedabad is consistently ranked as one of the safest cities in India, with very low crime rates and a friendly local population.

What currency should I bring?

Indian Rupee (INR). Digital payments (UPI) are widely accepted everywhere, from street vendors to malls.

Is Gujarati food vegetarian?
